Frequent in woods and on shady stream banks. Pinnae c 4-11 cm. Sori c 0.4 mm Skye ID: White hairs on main stalk and midribs, lowest pinnae bent away from the others. Other features: Pinnae attached to main stem by broad unbroken base almost meeting base of next pinna. Sori close to the edge which is turned inwards towards them. Sori not covered with an indusium (a papery-looking flap) as in many ferns. |
