Common in damp shady areas

Lower leaves 1-2 cm diameter.  Flowers 3-4 mm

ID: Leaves opposite, round, bluntly toothed, stalked.  Flowers greenish-yellow with 4 (occasionally 5) sepals, no petals, 8 stamens.  Flowers lie on a rosette of stalkless greenish-yellow leaflike bracts.  The much scarcer Alternate-leaved Golden Saxifrage has larger leaves which are clearly and regularly toothed, and larger flowers.

Other features: Spreads by rooting stems to form extensive mats.
