Frequent in damp lowland places especially near villages, where often planted in the past Leaves 10-25 cm. Height up to 5 m. ID: Leaves more than 7 times as long as broad, densely silky beneath but not above, margins downturned Other features: Catkins flower April-May, their scales black-tipped. Male and female on separate plants as with all willows. Branches long and flexible, formerly harvested for basket-making. |
