Rare, on wet rocks in hill country A spreading bush, height usually < 40 cm. Leaves c 1.5-5 cm long. ID: Leaves more or less equally green and shiny on both sides, hairless except when young, with gland-tipped teeth round the edge. Leaves have pointed, not rounded, tips, and average about twice as long as broad. Other features: Catkins appear with the leaves in early summer, on short leafy shoots, typically about a third as long as the catkin. Previous year's withered leaves often present. |
