Occasional on rocks, particularly limestone Flower diameter c 9 mm, fruit c 10 mm across ID: Like Bramble but low and creeping, leaves always trefoil, spines very weak and often absent from stretches of stem, fruit with larger and fewer segments, no more than 6 (the one in the pic on left has just 1; this is a tatty and late specimen but is the only fruit pic I have at present.) Other features: Petals no longer than sepals. Plant spreads by long creeping runners which root and produce the short upright flowering stems. |
