Very common in marshy ground and among rough vegetation, on damp roadsides or wet parts of woods, sometimes forming dense stands.

Flower diameter c 6-8 mm

ID: Both flowers and leaves unmistakable.

Other features: Petals usually 5, sometimes 6.  Long stamens (20-40 per flower) give flowerhead characteristic fuzzy appearance.  Leaves have many tiny leaflets between the main ones, some no thicker than the midrib.
