Common in woods and grassland in Spring, one of the first flowers to show, carpeting the ground in places

Flower diameter c 20-35 mm

ID: Has 7-12 yellow petals, leaves untoothed.

Other features: Leaves dark green and fleshy, inverted heart-shaped with long stalks, easy to recognize when not in flower.  Marsh Marigold has similar but much larger leaves which unlike the Celandine's are distinctly toothed.
