A garden escape, naturalised here and there in woods or shady places on damp soils. Flower diameter c 15-20 mm ID: 5 pink or white petals, with darker veins, well-notched, at least twice as long as sepals. Has many very long-stalked leaves from the base, and just two unstalked and opposite stem leaves. Other features: 5 stamens with purple anthers. Leaves somewhat fleshy. Both white and pink forms occur in Skye. Closely related to the very different Blinks. |
