Frequent on bare ground, especially around farmyards and on the inner edge of road verges, but much confused with other species such as P arenastrum. Flower diameter c 2 mm ID: Fruit no longer than 3.5 mm and not protruding from flower. Leaves on main stem much larger than those on flowering branches. Leaf-stalks not or hardly longer than their stipules (ochreae). Other features: Upright or semi-upright, unlike Ray's Knotgrass. Nut has three equal sides, not two broad and one narrow as in P arenastrum. |
