Lowest flower c 19 mm across

Common in bog pools and loch edges

Height above water c 10-30 cm in flower.  Flower diameter c 15-20 mm.

ID: 5 petals, white, with pinkish undersides, fringed with long white hairs.

Other features: Leaves with three waxy-smooth, upright concave leaflets make this plant unmistakable in its habitat even when not flowering.  The leaves arise along a floating rhizome which they sheathe with their bases.  As with the Primrose, some flowers have long styles and some short, to assist cross-pollination.
