Common in short grass including lawns Tepals c 3-3.5 mm. Fruit c 2.5-3 mm. Leaves c 2-4 mm wide. Stem typically 5-15 cm high. ID: Inflorescence has one unstalked head and 2-8 stalked ones, each with about 4-12 flowers. Anthers much longer than their filaments (in L Multiflora the anthers are only equal to the filaments). Other features: Abundant in April-May in grazed or mown turf, but very inconspicuous later in the year. Not tufted but forms small patches. |
