Occasional in wet muddy ground or shallow water

Stems c 15-45 cm high.  Spikelets c 10-25 mm long, lemmas c 4-5 mm long.  Anthers c 0.5-1 mm long

ID: See G fluitans for general description of the genus.  Lemmas c 4-5 mm long, broader at the tips than in G fluitans, and somewhat toothed there, but not as neatly as the books make out.  The two palea tips project past the end of the lemma, unlike in G notata.

Other features: Stems usually curving outwards and upwards.  Leaves broad and short with hooded tips, rather bluish-green.
