Occasional in wet muddy ground or shallow water Stems c 15-45 cm high. Spikelets c 10-25 mm long, lemmas c 4-5 mm long. Anthers c 0.5-1 mm long ID: See G fluitans for general description of the genus. Lemmas c 4-5 mm long, broader at the tips than in G fluitans, and somewhat toothed there, but not as neatly as the books make out. The two palea tips project past the end of the lemma, unlike in G notata. Other features: Stems usually curving outwards and upwards. Leaves broad and short with hooded tips, rather bluish-green. |
