Occasional in similar situations to the parents Great Sundew and Round-leaved Sundew Dimensions intermediate between the parents. ID: Leaf-blade oval, shortly tapering into the stalk, less than twice as long as broad (excluding hairs), very similar in shape to Oblong-leaved Sundew. Flower-stem about 2-3 x as long as leaves, arising from the centre of the rosette (but note that new rosette-leaves may grow after the flower-stem, which will then appear to come from beneath them). For these and other differences between the two taxa see Oblong-leaved Sundew Other features: A sterile hybrid, so all plants should be halfway between the parents in character rather than varying along a scale from one parent to the other. The plants in these pictures are assumed to be hybrids on the basis of leaf-shape, being exactly intermediate between that of both presumed parents which were very close by. The fact that most of the leaves are held near-horizontally is a further pointer to hybrid status. |
