Infrequent, on stony or sandy ground or walls.  Not extending into uplands like S anglicum.

ID: In flower easily identified by yellow flowers: those of S anglicum are white or pink.  Flowers not in a large rounded head like Rock Stonecrop (S forsterianum) but just a few together on the end of a short leafy shoot.

Other features: Named for its peppery taste.  Leaves similar to S anglicum, fleshy, roundish in cross-section, densely packed together especially on non-flowering shoots.
