Rare in bare dry, often sandy, ground.

Flower diameter c 5-7 mm

ID: Petals shorter than sepals.  Uppermost bracts below flower mainly brownish or whitish, only green in the centre.  Stems and sepals covered with glandular hairs

Other features:   Fruit capsule hardly curved and not much longer than sepals.  5 petals, 5 stamens, 5 styles
